Aquarian Sadhana
Sat Nam beloved sangat,
I am so happy to announce that I will be offering Aquarian Sadhana. It's an honor to meditate together.
In 1992, Aquarian Sadhana was given to us in the Kundalini Yoga world to take us through the transition into the Aquarian Age. This specific Sadhana prepares our psyche to excel in the new environments and coming decades. I can say personally that this particular Sadhana has brought me to spaces within that are so incredibly sacred and deep, that they cannot be expressed in words. It’s an experience to be had.
It is said that we will need stamina, intuition, self-awareness, and a spiritual experience that can hold our identity in the face of global changes, information overload, competition, and ecological and environmental challenges.
Practicing in a group creates group consciousness, which is very powerful. It amplifies the whole experience.
Below you will find how it will be structured, and materials you will need to participate:
Aquarian Sadhana will begin promptly at 5:00am Eastern Time.
Please arrive before 5am with:
a mat
a blanket or shawl if you need it (the room is usually nice and warm)
a meditation cushion or pillow for extra sitting support
any personal props you may want to use (there are some blocks available)
water or tea
a simple head covering (a scarf or cloth hat) for the recitation of Japji Sahib*
snack or food so you can have something light after Sadhana
*The head covering is traditional for the reading of Japji Sahib, but it is not strictly required. It’s a form of respect to wear one while reading or receiving the sound current, and you can feel free to remove it once we move into the kriya. Normally people wear a "beanie"/winter hat or loosely put a scarf on their head. A bandana can also work well.
The link to view Japji Sahib in the transliterated version is here:

You will be using this version of Japji Sahib at Sadhana so feel free to bookmark it, or you can click this link on the morning of Sadhana to pull it up on your phone. Some people sit in meditation with their eyes closed while Japji is being read, if you would rather not read along. It's a good experience to match the transliterated words with the recitation, but again, there is always room for flexibility.
I will be using the transliterated version myself to recite aloud. Since you may not have experience with Japji Sahib, you do not need to memorize it, but simply read along with me while I recite.
Jap means repeat and Ji means soul. The repetition of Japji Sahib puts you in touch with the infinite nature of your soul. Aquarian Sadhana always begins with the recitation of this sacred text. There are 40 “pauris” in Japji. Pauri means step, as in steps on a staircase...which adjusts all the elements in all the chakras and completely adjusts our subtle and physical bodies.
Japji Sahib will take around 20-30 minutes.
After Japji Sahib:
Immediately following Japji Sahib, we will begin a Kundalini Yoga kriya. We tune in first by chanting:
Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo
Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo
Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo
3x
Aad Guray Nameh
Jugad Guray Nameh
Sat Guray Nameh
Siri Guru Devay Nameh
3x
A “kriya” is a term we use in Kundalini Yoga to describe a series of exercises that are strung together, like beads on a string, to produce a specific outcome. A kriya combines mudra, breathing exercises, physical posture, and mantra. Usually in Sadhana, a kriya is about 40 minutes long, and the facilitator also does the kriya along with the group, as it is their Sadhana as well.
Following the kriya, we will be chanting specific mantras, combined for a total of 62 minutes. Please do not feel overwhelmed with the mantras…please take a listen if you want to hear the pronunciation, but do not expect yourself to memorize them fully. With repetition and practice, you will learn them. You can also look at the mantras while we chant if that helps you feel more connected.

Thou who savest, save us all and take us across,
Uplifting and giving the excellence.
You gave us the touch of the lotus feet of the Guru, and all our jobs are done.
You have become merciful, kind, and compassionate; and so our mind does not forget Thee.
In the company of the holy beings you take us from misfortune and calamities, scandals, and disrepute.
Slanderous enemies—you finish them in timelessness.

Thank you for taking the time to prepare yourself with this incredible and uplifting experience. You have so much time to grow and develop your knowledge of these mantras, so please be gentle with yourself and do not feel as though you need to “know’ all of this before you come. Simply expose yourself so you can “meet” the mantras, and the rest can take care of itself.
Please feel free to contact me with questions.
I look forward to practicing with you.
In Love, Light, and Service,
Sat Nam!
