Living Libations Face Oil: My favorite beauty product in the market.

How to remain natural and wild when taking great care of yourself. Use an ancient technique of cleansing and exfoliating your skin with oil. This is gentle for all skin types.

Cleansing your skin with oil is an ancient practice that leaves your skin feeling moisturized, clean, and looking totally radiant. I have been using Living Libations products for about ten years, and I only recently discovered the magic of using their oil to cleanse and exfoliate. This new information has completely enhanced my skin care routine. For my previous routine, I used to use 1-2 drops of their 'Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn' oil with my SPF facial lotion. I would place 1-2 drops into my palm and mix it with my SPF lotion, and then spread that across my face and neck. That was the extent of my usage of Living Libations oils. I still do this, and it's very successful. Only now I discovered, however, that their oils are meant to be used for everything...from cleansing, to moisturizing, to exfoliating. This has completely changed my relationship to oil in general!

Oil for cleansing? Won't that make my face greasy?

You would think so. The key to mastering this technique is to do it correctly.

In my personal experience, I only need 2 drops of this oil to wash my face. I wet a washcloth and then pump 2 drops of this oil on to the cloth, and then gently massage this all over my face and neck. Their website has an excellent tutorial video that how's exactly how to perform this technique.

I first made the mistake of putting a bunch of oil into the palms of my hands and washing my if it was a regular face wash. This absolutely did not work for me, and my skin did in fact feel really oily.

The KEY to successfully washing your face with oil is to only use a few drops on a WET washcloth, and then spread/massage over your face and neck. Once you complete that step, then you rinse the washcloth well with water, and massage a second time without adding any more oil. This leaves your skin feeling fully smooth, hydrated, and moisturized.

Which oil is right for me?

This is a matter of personal preference and testing to see which one feel best on your skin. Personally, I think Living Libations has the most wonderfully crafted floral essence facial oils in the market.

I love the Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn oil. I think it smells absolutely divine, and the color of it is so beautiful and bright. I decided to try the Rose Best Skin Ever oil, and I am a huge fan. I have a special connection with roses, and I did not realize they had a rose oil until recently! I've been using the rose oil for 3 weeks now, and I am in love. The smell is totally blissful and the end result is very calming, nourishing, and radiant. As a pitta-dominant constitution in Ayurveda, anything rose-oriented is very healing and balancing for me. Having it on my face makes me feel so gentle and pretty.

There are so many pros for choosing this oil for your skin care routine.

1) All of the ingredients are natural. You can feel great knowing that everything that you are putting onto your skin is chemical-free, and came from Mother Earth.

2) They use glass bottles. This is a major bonus....they use minimal plastic. The only plastic I have ever seen has been on the applicator of the jar, which pumps the oil out into your hand or washcloth.

3) This company uses floral essences in most, if not all, of their products. Floral essences are truly medicinal. The spirit and healing qualities of each plant/flower is infused with the oil, creating a harmonious and beautifying product that delivers natural, fragrant results.

4) This company was created by a woman. I love supporting empowered women who share their creative magic with the world.

I am sure there are many more pros, but I decided to list a few in this post. I love Living Libations with my whole heart, and felt called to share. Using oil for facial cleansing is an ancient practice, and a very healing one. I hope you find a routine that is nourishing to you. May you treat your body temple with respect and love.

In peace and gratitude,
